2. Personal information we collect

Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:

Contact details: name, email address, phone number, mailing address and company name.
Order details: pickup and delivery addresses, dates, contact persons at each location and special instructions.
Vehicle information: make, model, year, VIN or HIN, dimensions, weight, condition, photos and inspection reports.
Identity and ownership documents: for SecurePay Delivery, storage and repossession — government ID details, title, registration, lien information and authorization letters.
Payment information: bank name, account holder and transfer references. We do not store full card numbers on our website.
Custody, storage and shipping records: check-in and check-out reports, condition photos, Bills of Lading, tracking updates and delivery confirmations.
Communications: messages, emails, call notes and reviews you send us.
Website data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring website or campaign, and cookie identifiers.

3. How we collect it

Directly from you when you fill in a form, call, email, sign an agreement or hand over a vehicle.
From the other party to a transaction — for example, a seller may give us the buyer's details for a SecurePay Delivery transaction, or a dealer may give us the receiver's contact.
From service providers such as carriers, inspectors, storage partners, banks and identity or title-check services.

4. Why we use it

To prepare quotes, book, dispatch, track and deliver shipments.
To store, inspect and release vehicles.
To run SecurePay Delivery transactions: verify the parties, receive and release funds, and keep records.
To prevent fraud, verify identities and ownership, and protect our customers, staff and partners.
To communicate with you about your order, including status updates and receipts.
To answer questions, handle claims and resolve disputes.
To improve our website and services and understand which channels bring us customers.
To send newsletters and offers, only where you have agreed or where the law allows; you can opt out at any time.
To comply with legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations, including FMCSA record-keeping.

We share personal information only as needed to provide our services:

Carriers and drivers who pick up and deliver your vehicle.
Inspection, storage and recovery partners working on your order.
Banks and payment providers that process transfers and hold segregated client funds.
The other party to your transaction (buyer or seller), limited to what is needed to complete it.
IT, hosting, email and analytics providers acting on our instructions.
Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants and insurers.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Where state law treats certain advertising cookies as a "sale" or "sharing", you can opt out as described in section 9.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

7. How long we keep it

Quote requests and general enquiries that do not become orders: up to 3 years.
Orders, transport, storage, inspection and SecurePay Delivery records: up to 7 years after the transaction, or longer where the law, a claim or a dispute requires it.
Marketing records: until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not contact you again.

8. How we protect it

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and strong passwords for staff, limited access on a need-to-know basis, secure storage of documents, and regular backups. Customer funds are held in segregated accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Protect yourself from fraud: we will never ask you to pay into a personal account, use gift cards or cryptocurrency, or change bank details by email. Always confirm payment instructions by phone using the number on this website.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to:

know and access the personal information we hold about you;
correct inaccurate information;
delete your information, subject to legal exceptions;
receive a portable copy of your information;

10. California residents

In the last 12 months we have collected the categories listed in section 2 (identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, approximate geolocation from addresses, and professional information for business customers) from the sources in section 3, for the purposes in section 4, and disclosed them to the recipients in section 5. We use sensitive personal information (such as ID details) only to verify identity, prevent fraud and complete transactions. California residents may exercise the rights in section 9 under the CCPA/CPRA.

11. How to make a request

Email support@dreckmansautotransport.com with the subject "Privacy request", tell us which right you want to exercise, and include your name, email and phone used with us. We will verify your identity before acting, usually by matching information we already hold. An authorized agent may submit a request with your written permission. We aim to respond within 45 calendar days and will tell you if we need more time.

12. Marketing messages

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in every email or by contacting us. We will still send service messages about your orders, such as confirmations, tracking updates and invoices.

13. Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
