General questions

01How is the price of transport calculated?

Price depends on distance, vehicle size and weight, trailer type (open, enclosed, lowboy, etc.), whether the unit runs, permits required and how flexible your dates are. Request a quote and a dispatcher will confirm a firm price — no hidden fuel surcharges.

02How do I track my shipment?

Once your load is booked you receive a tracking number. Enter it on the Track page to see status, location updates and the delivery estimate. If a SecurePay transaction is linked, you will see the payment status there too.

03Is my vehicle insured during transport?

Yes. Every carrier we dispatch must carry active cargo and liability insurance, which we verify before each load. Ask your dispatcher for a certificate of insurance for your shipment.

04Do you move non-running vehicles and equipment?

Yes. Let us know when you request a quote so we dispatch a carrier with a winch, forklift or loading equipment as needed.

05What does Dreckmans Auto Transport do?

Dreckmans Auto Transport is a US vehicle logistics company. We transport cars, motorcycles, boats, RVs, heavy equipment and military vehicles, store them in secure facilities, inspect them, and — when a sale is involved — hold the buyer's payment until the vehicle is delivered and accepted through our SecurePay service. One team handles the move, the paperwork and, if needed, the money.

06Are you a car dealer?

No. We do not buy or sell vehicles and we never set the price of a sale. We are a transport, storage and transaction-support company: buyers and sellers agree on the deal between themselves, and we make sure the vehicle is moved, documented and paid for safely.

07Where are you located and which areas do you cover?

Our dispatch office is listed on the Contact page. We coordinate pickups and deliveries across all 48 contiguous states, with storage and inspection available at our facility and through partner locations.

08Can I visit your office or storage facility?

Yes — by appointment only. Vehicles in storage belong to our customers, so access is controlled. Call or send a message through the Contact page and we will schedule a time with a dispatcher or facility manager.

09What kind of equipment do you use?

It depends on the load: open and enclosed car carriers, single-vehicle flatbeds, hydraulic liftgate trailers for low or non-running vehicles, hydraulic boat trailers, and step-deck or lowboy trailers for oversize equipment. Our own trucks are supported by a vetted carrier network, so the right equipment is matched to every route.

Services & vehicles

01Which vehicles can you transport?

Cars, SUVs and pickups, classic and exotic cars, motorcycles, boats on trailers, motorhomes and travel trailers, construction and agricultural equipment, and military or government vehicles. If it has wheels, tracks or a hull, ask us — we will tell you honestly whether we can move it.

02Do you pick up from my home?

Yes. With our At Home service the truck comes to your driveway or the nearest safe spot a large carrier can reach. If your street is too narrow, we will arrange a meeting point close by.

03Do you offer vehicle storage?

Yes — short-term (by the week) and long-term (monthly) storage, indoor and outdoor, with video monitoring and controlled access. Storage can be combined with pickup and delivery, so we collect the vehicle and bring it back when you are ready. See the Storage Facility page for details.

04What does a vehicle inspection include?

A documented condition report with dated photos of every side, the interior, odometer, tires and any existing damage, plus a check of the VIN or HIN against the paperwork. Inspections are available on their own, before a purchase, or as part of a transport or SecurePay transaction.

05Do you handle repossessions?

Yes. We work with lenders, dealers and leasing companies to recover vehicles lawfully, transport them to storage or auction, and document their condition. Contact us with your requirements and the states involved.

06Do you accept trade-ins or buy vehicles?

No. Since we do not buy or sell vehicles, we do not take trade-ins. If you are selling, we can store, inspect and deliver the vehicle to your buyer and secure the payment through SecurePay.

07Can I book transport for a vehicle I bought online or at an auction?

Yes. Send us the pickup location, the release or gate pass details, and the delivery address. We coordinate directly with the auction or seller and keep you updated until delivery.

Payment & security

01How do I pay for transport?

Payment options and timing are shown on your quote and invoice. Most customers pay a booking amount when the carrier is assigned and the balance on delivery. Business customers can ask about invoicing terms.

02How do payments work for SecurePay transactions?

For SecurePay, the buyer pays by bank wire or ACH transfer into a segregated account used only for customer funds — never into an employee's or a seller's personal account. The money stays there until the buyer accepts the vehicle, then it is released to the seller.

03Why don't you accept cards for SecurePay?

SecurePay transactions are usually large. A verified bank transfer is direct, traceable and documented, and it cannot be reversed weeks later the way some card payments can — which protects both the buyer and the seller.

04Is my money safe?

Customer funds are held in a segregated account, separate from our operating money, and released only according to the written agreement signed by buyer and seller. Every status change is logged and visible on the tracking page. Always confirm payment instructions by phone with a number from our website — we never change bank details by email.

05Do I need to pay a deposit?

For transport, a booking amount may be required once a carrier is assigned. For SecurePay, the buyer deposits the full purchase price in one payment before the truck is dispatched. Any amount and deadline is written on your agreement and invoice before you pay.

06Can I pay from a company account?

Yes. Business and financing accounts are welcome. For security, the payer's name must match the buyer or company shown on the invoice.

07What if I cancel after paying?

If you cancel before pickup is dispatched, your payment is refunded according to the cancellation terms on your agreement. Once inspection, preparation or transport has started, the costs already incurred may be deducted. Our Terms & Conditions explain this in full.

Delivery & tracking

01How long does delivery take?

It depends on distance, route, season and equipment. As a guide, short regional moves often take 1–3 days, and coast-to-coast moves about 7–10 days after pickup. Oversize loads that need permits can take longer. Your dispatcher gives you an estimated window when the carrier is assigned.

02Can I track my shipment?

Yes. You receive a tracking number when the order is booked. Enter it on the Track your Shipment page to see each update — scheduled, picked up, in transit and delivered — with the estimated delivery date.

03Can I collect the vehicle myself?

Yes, from our storage facility, by appointment. We prepare the vehicle and paperwork in advance and verify your identity and authorization when you arrive.

04How are vehicles secured during transport?

With wheel straps, chains or soft tie-downs suited to the vehicle, checked by the driver at every stop. Boats are strapped to cradles or trailers, and equipment is chained according to its weight and attachment points.

05What happens if my delivery is delayed?

Weather, road closures, permit restrictions and carrier schedules can occasionally cause delays. If that happens, your dispatcher contacts you with the reason and a new delivery window, and the tracking page is updated.

06Do you ship internationally?

Our own service covers the contiguous United States. For export, we can deliver the vehicle to a US port and coordinate with qualified international shipping partners for container or Ro-Ro shipping and export paperwork.

Inspection & condition

01Is the vehicle inspected before transport?

Yes. Every vehicle is inspected with you or your representative at pickup, and its condition is recorded on the Bill of Lading with photos. The same report is checked again at delivery.

02How long do I have to inspect a vehicle bought through SecurePay?

Buyer and seller agree on an inspection window of 1 to 14 calendar days before any money moves. During that time the buyer can check the vehicle against the agreed description. If the window ends without a dispute, the sale is accepted and the seller is paid.

03What if the vehicle is not as described?

Report it to us within the inspection window, with photos. The funds stay protected while we review the issue with both parties according to the signed agreement — whether that means a return, an adjustment or another agreed solution.

04Do vehicles come with a warranty?

We do not sell vehicles, so we do not provide warranties. Any warranty is offered by the seller or the manufacturer and should be stated in your purchase agreement.

05Do you check the vehicle's history and paperwork?

For SecurePay and inspection services we compare the VIN or HIN with the title or registration, check that the seller is the owner, and look for lien indicators where records are available. You receive what we find before the transaction continues.

Business & fleet logistics

01Do you work with dealers, auctions and businesses?

Yes. We move inventory for dealerships, auctions, rental and leasing companies, equipment dealers and contractors, with consistent pricing and one point of contact.

02Can you handle oversize and heavy loads?

Yes. We arrange the right trailer, oversize permits, route surveys and escort vehicles where required for wide, tall or heavy loads such as excavators, combines and large boats.

03Are all shipments insured?

Every load moves under the carrier's cargo insurance, and the coverage limit is stated on your quote. If your vehicle's value is higher than the standard limit, tell us before booking so we can arrange the right carrier or additional coverage.

04Do you offer contract or recurring transport?

Yes. For regular volumes we set up scheduled pickups, agreed rates and monthly invoicing. Contact us with your lanes and typical volumes.

05Can you arrange return or multi-stop transport?

Yes — returns to storage, seller or dealer locations, and multi-stop routes for several vehicles can be planned as one job.

06What safety standards do your carriers follow?

We work only with properly authorized and insured carriers, check their operating authority and safety record, and require documented condition reports at pickup and delivery on every load.

Other questions

01Can you help buyers outside the United States?

Yes, for the US part of the journey. We can inspect, store and deliver the vehicle to a US port and work with your chosen international forwarder or a qualified partner.

02Is the transport price negotiable?

Our quotes are based on real carrier rates for your route. Flexible dates, open transport and a convenient meeting point can lower the price — ask your dispatcher what options apply.

03How do I know I'm dealing with the real Dreckmans Auto Transport?

Always start from our official website, use the phone number shown here, and check our USDOT and MC numbers in the FMCSA public database (linked at the top of every page). We never ask you to pay into a personal account, use gift cards or crypto, or change payment details by email. If something looks wrong, call us before you pay.

04How do I get a quote?

Use the Get a Quote form, call us, or send a message through the Contact page. Tell us the vehicle, pickup and delivery locations and your preferred dates — a dispatcher replies with a price, usually within one business day.

SecurePay Delivery

01How does SecurePay (payment on delivery) work?

The buyer sends funds to our secured account before pickup. We transport the unit, the buyer inspects it at delivery, and once the buyer accepts — or the inspection window ends without a dispute — we release the funds to the seller.

02What happens if the buyer rejects the vehicle?

If the item is materially different from the agreed description, the buyer can open a dispute during the inspection window. Funds stay held while we review documentation and photos from pickup and delivery, and are released or refunded according to the signed agreement.

03Who pays the SecurePay fee?

By default the buyer pays it, and it appears on the first invoice. Buyer and seller can agree to split it — tell us when you open the transaction.

04How long can the inspection window be?

Between 1 and 14 calendar days, agreed by both parties before any money moves. If the window ends without a dispute, the sale is considered accepted.

05Can I pay a deposit first and the rest later?

No. To protect both sides, the buyer deposits the full purchase price in one payment before we dispatch a truck.

06Can I use my own carrier?

No. We only release funds on deliveries we handle ourselves — that is how we can confirm, with photos and tracking, that the unit arrived as described.

07How do I know the seller really owns the vehicle?

Before pickup we verify the seller’s ID and proof of ownership (title, registration or bill of sale). If anything does not match, the transaction stops and the buyer is refunded.

08What if the vehicle is damaged in transit?

Transport damage is handled through the carrier’s cargo insurance and is separate from the sale itself. The condition reports from pickup and delivery are used to document any claim.

09When does the seller get paid?

As soon as the buyer accepts the unit — or the inspection window closes without a dispute — we release the funds, usually the next business day.

10Can a dealer use SecurePay?

Yes. Many dealers use it to sell to out-of-state buyers who want the reassurance of paying on delivery.
